The sound of lapping waves. The scent of a salty Gulf breeze. The wonder of a Florida sunset. Yes, life in Panama City Beach makes it easy to celebrate. When you arrive, pull up a stool and raise a glass to unforgettable memories. You’re finally on the beach vacation you’ve been dreaming of, and one way to celebrate is at our local beach bars.
Happy Hour
Whether you're looking to relax and unwind or dance the night away, Panama City Beach bars are the place to be both day and night.
Pineapple Willy’s is a Panama City Beach staple known for live music and on-pier seating. Stop by for a drink or two (or three) as you gaze out onto the Gulf of Mexico, and be sure to order Willy’s namesake beverage featuring a blend of rum, Hawaiian pineapple juice, and cream of coconut.
Drink under a beach umbrella or tiki hut at Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant opened seasonally. In addition to the shrimp ceviche and fish tacos, guests at Sharky’s enjoy specialty drinks such as the World Famous Shark Attack. This crowd-pleaser mixes fine rums with blackberry brandy and a blend of tropical juices — perfect for toasting to a sun-soaked day.
Another destination worth seeking out is Schooners Last Local Beach Club. Beloved for its laid-back ambiance, Schooners is noteworthy for its nightly sunset celebrations as well as its seared crab cakes. Here you can enjoy an ice-cold craft beer, a crisp white peach sangria, or one of several delectable margaritas. The Sunset Splash is a unique house special, which combines raspberry vodka and peach schnapps with mango, pineapple, and orange juices.
Special Events
Floridians know how to have a good time. As such, many of our favorite beach bars host special events throughout the week and year.
Be sure to check out Barefoot on the Beach Bar and Grill for a night of music and fun. And if you’d like a turn at the mic, visit Runaway Island, a two-story beachside restaurant that hosts karaoke several nights a week, in addition to pub trivia and all-you-can-eat fish fry.
For seasonal events held throughout the year, check out Schooners Last Local Beach Club’s event calendar, which features several festivals, one revolving around lobsters, and a Halloween celebration.
From special events to cocktails, come together with old friends (and make new ones) under the tiki hut or star-filled night sky at Panama City Beach bars.
